With traffic getting worse and gas prices climbing, many in Middle Tennessee are looking for an alternative that is less stressful and less expensive! While the Nashville public transportation system is not perfect, it can be quite useful if you know how to use it. First, you’ll want to go to the “How To Ride” section on the WeGo website. This will answer many of your questions, but I will answer a few here.

Finding Your Route

To find the best route for your commute, there are a few useful tools. First, the route map and bus schedule on the WeGo Website, which you can find here. Pay careful attention to the times and make sure you’re not taking a route at the start of your day that may not be there at the end.

To track the routes in real time on your phone, you can download the app “Transit” on your iPhone or Android.

If you live in Murfreesboro, the 84 Route will be the choice for morning and afternoon commutes, while the 55 Route in Antioch will be the nearest option for a late night.

Walk Bike Nashville Annual Pass

One great way to dramatically lower the cost of your bus fair is to become a member of Walk Bike Nashville ($5/month) and utilize their $50 annual pass. This pass will cover all WeGo buses as well as the train on all of their routes.

Paying For Your Ride

If you choose not to join Walk Bike Nashville, payment can be made with cash or a QuickTicket Card. Physical QuickTicket Cards can be found at the WeGo Central Station in Nashville, but you can download the QuickTicket app and add your payment method so that you can simply use your phone without ever needing a physical card.

Regional buses cost $4.25 per ride and local buses are just $1.25.
